Ice-fishing has always been popular and Babine Lake's 177 km has recently been discovered by ice-boaters who rocket across the lake with sail-driven sleds.

Visitors mix with residents in Granisle's busy, state-of-the-art curling rink and newly renovated hockey/skating rink, which are favoured by sports-tournament organizers.

Winter-lovers congregate at the Mammoth and Babine lodges for hearty meals and a welcoming aprés-snow atmosphere.
