Bear Island Campground

Approximately 8 km on the dirt road just before the Smithers connector you will find Bear Island Camp Ground. It is very rustic forestry campsite, when you leave Granisle you will turn right and go down a steep grade to reach it. You will look over to Bear Island & Cub Island Bear Island is a volcano which erupted years ago cub island is the ash. On the islands and the campsites there is said to be fossils, in the area if you wish to look for them amongst the trees and on the beaches.
