BC Parks runs and operates several campgrounds in the Lake Forest District area.
Red Bluff Provincial Park is considered the gem of Babine Lake. This popular park is named for the iron stained cliffs that plunge almost perpendicularly into the lake. Located 45 minutes north of Highway 16 at Topley, 64 well-maintained campsites await you.
Park visitors can swim, sunbathe, angle for a rainbow trout or take in the salmon enhancement projects at nearby Fulton River and Pinkut Creek.
Babine Lake - Pendleton Bay Marine Provincial Park is a quiet park set in a natural setting. The boat launch provides easy access to Babine Lake for travelers visiting the community of Burns Lake. Anglers will enjoy the challenge of fishing for rainbow trout and char in the wilderness area of Babine Lake.
Babine Lake - Smithers Landing Bay Marine Provincial Park is ideal for those seeking solace and a slower pace. Campsites nestled along the lakeshore make this a scenic camping spot.
Babine Mountains Provincial Park is located within the Skeena Mountains eco section and offers some of the finest hiking opportunities in west-central British Columbia. Glacier-fed lakes, rugged peaks and extensive sub-alpine meadows provide day and overnight hiking opportunities. Area habitat supports healthy populations of mountain goat, moose, marmot and many species of birds. Rolling alpine plateaus, rugged mountains and an abundance of snow provides skiers, snowmobilers and snowshoers with experiences for all skill levels.
Ethel F. Wilson Memorial Park has been maintained close to its natural state, making it a perfect escape. Rainbow trout fishing is a popular activity. Pinkut Lake is also well-suited to paddling small boats, and has a fish hatchery located at the south end.
Topley Landing Provincial Park. This small 12-hectare park lies within the traditional territory of the Nat'oot'en Nation, and is used for a First Nations food fishery and other activities, including trapping, hunting, and gathering. A large natural beach dominates the parks' frontage on Babine Lake, providing a good picnic spot.
Sutherland River Provincial Park & Protected Area provides park visitors with a variety of river based recreation opportunities, and protects a river with important habitat for spawning fish and other wildlife.
The Ministry of Forests also maintains several parks in the area which do not require passes. Maps of the forestry roads, lakes and streams can be purchased at local suppliers. Check with the local forest district office for details on which sites and trails may be available.
